Our Story

For more than sixty years, God has kept a holiness church in Albuquerque. The names, pastors, and faces have changed over the years. The church has kept preaching the same gospel and the same call to holy living.

Where It Began

The church began in 1961 as the Bible Missionary Church, meeting at 610 Kinley NW. Those early years were built on faith and sacrifice. C. C. and Dortha P. Davis gave generously to help secure the property, and for about sixteen years that building was home. Believers gathered there to worship, pray, and hear the Word preached, and from there they carried a holiness witness into the city.

Moving to Willow Road

In the late 1970s the congregation stepped out in faith and moved to 355 Willow Road NW, where we still worship today. The move cost something. The church took on debt to establish its new home, and it took until 1986 to pay it off. Every Sunday we gather in a building that earlier generations gave and prayed into being.

A New Name, the Same Church

In 1989 the congregation chose a new name: Bible Holiness Church. The name changed, but the church and its message did not. Rev. Delbert Lanham was pastor during that season. Rev. David Wiseman followed him and faithfully led the church into another generation.

A New Connection

After Pastor Wiseman’s departure, the church faced the question of how to carry the ministry forward. In 2024 the congregation voted to join the Southwest Bible Methodist Connection of Churches, a fellowship of like-minded churches that offers support and partnership. Through that connection, Pastor Jordan Sankey came to Albuquerque in 2025 to serve as pastor.

Our Story Continues

Today we gather as Rock of Ages Church, still carrying the name Bible Holiness Church that has been ours since 1989. Our mission is the same one that has carried this church for six decades:

To proclaim Jesus Christ, faithfully teach the Word of God, grow in grace, make disciples, and be a church home for the people of Albuquerque.

We’re grateful for every man and woman who prayed, preached, gave, worked, and stayed faithful through every season. We’re standing on what they built. We believe our story is still being written, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Our Pastor

Pastor Jordan Sankey
Pastor Jordan began serving the congregation in 2025 after the church joined the Southwest Bible Methodist Connection of Churches. He is passionate about biblical preaching, discipleship, church growth, and helping people experience the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.
